UHMWPE高分子量(分子量通常只有2 ~ 30萬(wàn)的HDPE)以其優(yōu)秀的使用性能，屬于價(jià)格適中、性能良好的熱塑性工程塑料，它集中了各種塑料的優(yōu)點(diǎn)，幾乎具有普通聚乙烯和其他工程塑料無(wú)法比擬的耐磨性、抗沖擊性、自潤(rùn)滑性、耐腐蝕性、吸收沖擊能量、耐低溫、衛(wèi)生、無(wú)毒、不易粘連、吸水性小、密度大等綜合性能。事實(shí)上，沒(méi)有簡(jiǎn)單的高分子材料具有如此多的優(yōu)異性能。
超高分子量聚乙烯板突出優(yōu)異特性：
1、耐磨性高居各類純塑料，而且隨分子量的增大而提高;UHMWPE與鋼、銅配對(duì)時(shí)容易產(chǎn)生粘著磨損，對(duì)配偶件的磨損小。使用壽命高于鋼質(zhì)，耐磨性是炭鋼及不銹鋼的3～7倍;
2、自潤(rùn)滑性很好，滾動(dòng)摩擦系數(shù)在塑料中較低，可以在無(wú)潤(rùn)滑下以滑動(dòng)或轉(zhuǎn)動(dòng)的形式工作，其潤(rùn)滑性比鋼和銅在有潤(rùn)滑油的情況下還要好!
3、具有很強(qiáng)的吸收沖擊能和摩擦消音的性能，有摩擦噪聲小的優(yōu)點(diǎn);
4、沖擊強(qiáng)度列塑料，是現(xiàn)有塑料品種中較耐沖擊的一種，常溫沖擊強(qiáng)度可與聚碳酸酯PC媲美，而低溫沖擊強(qiáng)度甚至比聚碳酸酯PC還要好;其沖擊強(qiáng)度是ABS的8倍、PA66的10倍、POM的22倍、PBT的25倍!
5、耐疲勞性很好，耐疲勞強(qiáng)度大于50萬(wàn)次;
6、分子量較大，但不飽和鍵很少，因此具有優(yōu)良的耐化學(xué)腐蝕性，能耐各類腐蝕性介質(zhì)，比如：酸、堿、鹽，也能耐各類有機(jī)溶劑;
7、耐環(huán)境應(yīng)力開(kāi)裂的性能很好，是普通乙烯的200倍，抗應(yīng)力開(kāi)裂時(shí)間高達(dá)4000小時(shí);而且耐高溫蠕變性也非常好;UHMWPE的耐輻射性亦很好;
8、超耐熱性不高，熱變形溫度HD
9、電氣性能良好，較佳的電絕緣性和抗靜電性，體積電阻率>1015Ω.cm，介電強(qiáng)度為90kV/mm，介電常數(shù)2.3;
